'Panacea Helping the Sick.' ~ The Veronese physician J. Gazola created this picture as part of a larger woodcut in 1716. It was for his book,The World is Deceived by False Doctors in which he wrote of the four elements of the panacea (the cure-all). He cited Ecclesiastes 7:17b, “Do not be a fool — why die before your time?” as a reason to use his recipe (incidentally, the verse is taken out of context)

I have been searching for the proverbial fountain of youth since 1982,after reading Durk Pearson and Sandy Shaw's, "Life Extension: A Practical Approach. "Life Extension" legitimized my previous experience with natural remedies at the hands of Grandmom Fannie Strickland, an ex-slave who still practiced "Slave Medical Knowledge" passed on verbally from her mother because neither had ever learned to read or write. I was only 3 or 4 years old and hadn't learned to read either and yet I still remember the slave medical knowledge that consisted of Grandmom Fannie's strange botanical cures and a lot of superstition.
